Bose® RC-18S Expansion Remote, Gives you access and control of your Lifestyle® 35, 28 or 18 DVD home entertainment system from additional locations around your home even outdoors.

The RC18s continues to deliver on the promise of easy expansion and easy control. For use with non-uMusic based systems, the RC-18s offers radio frequency remote control throughout the home.

Via the on board micro switches, the RC-18s can be coded to audio stream 1 or audio stream 2 allowing customization based on the customers needs.

An example of this customization would be a large living room/ kitchen area where the kitchen has a pair of in-ceiling speakers. It would make sense in this scenario to code the remote to audio stream 1 which is the default for the home theater system. That way, when the TV is playing in the main room, its sound can be heard in the adjacent kitchen, and the RC18s will allow volume control in the kitchen that is independent of the home theater remote.
