Driver In-ear Monitors w/ E6 Amplifier by FiiO. The
dual balanced armature driver UM2 provides amazing low frequency
response and rich, articulate mids and highs. With technology
similar to our custom ES2, the UM2 is the earpiece of choice
for performers desiring high-end Westone sound quality at a
mid-level price. Comfortable Comply foam tips allow for extended
use without fatigue and provide up to 25dB of ambient noise
reduction.

What is the difference between the
UM Series and the True-Fit Series line of products?
The True-fit series of earphones - Westone
1, Westone 2, and Westone 3 Westone 4 - were specifically designed
for personal listening applications, for use with devices such
as an iPod or MP3 player. The sound signature is balanced without
accentuating any particular frequency band – perfect for
prerecorded music – and was crafted based on feedback
from our customers and what they wanted in the perfect personal
listening earphone. The Westone 1, Westone 2, and Westone 3
are a result of our dedication to providing professional level
sound in a personal listening earphone.
The UM (Universal Monitor) series was designed
for onstage use in live sound applications as in-ear musicians’
monitor. The UM1, UM2 and UM3X all feature a greater emphasis
on low frequency information, while maintaining excellent mids
and highs. Because live music is less refined than prerecorded
mastered music, musicians need an in-ear musicians’ monitor
that have the frequencies necessary to handle whatever equalization
is required to replicate the natural sound of their instrument.
More headroom in the low frequencies also allows drummers and
bassists to “feel” the additional low end associated
with their instrument.

Wow. great filelity, great price, great product

I ordered these from Front Row, and they arrived two days later. The sound is huge, much better than I expected. The included E6 amp haas several EQ patterns, and I can get the bass response I want. I dhopped other places before I made my purchase, and feel that I got a great deal from Front Row.
I would have liked to see information on the amp includedin the packaging, but an email to Westone brought immediate response. I also enquired about possible upgrades, and Westone told me that I would not see a significant improvement without moving up hundreds of dollaars.
Look, I though spending 250 bucks on Ipod headphones was insane until I did it. This headphone/amp combo has cleaned up my sound, I can listen to it -loud- without distortion, and the foam tips are very comfortable. I would recommend these to a friend.
